2019 reward points mechanism*

*The reward points mechanism comes into and will remain in effectiveness from March 18, 2019 to December 31, 2019 (collectively, the "effective period"). This Reward Points Program only applies to designated Type I personal account opened in the bank (Premier, Advance and Personal Banking included). 

Here's how you earn your reward points

  • Xiaohui became an HSBC Premier customer on 16 May 2019. By 31 December 2019, she'd have earned 287,500 HSBC Reward Points with these hypothetical scenarios. (Actual circumstances may differ)
  • By taking these steps on the very day she opened her account, Xiaohui earned 20,000 points immediately.
    1) +2,500 points for logging on to personal internet banking for the first time
    2) +2,500 points for registering her mobile phone number and email address to receive information on our marketing activities
    3) +2,500 points for logging on to the HSBC Mobile Banking app for the first time
    4) +2,500 points for following the HSBC China WeChat Service Account and linking it to her bank account
    5) +10,000 points for completing the Risk Profiling Questionnaire for the first time
  • On 25 June 2019, with the help of the customer relationship manager, Xiaohui set up family protection and wealth management appreciation plans, earning 30,000 points for each of them. An additional 5,000 points was awarded to her for fulfilling 2 of her wealth management needs for the first time. That’s an impressive 65,000 points in total.
  • On 15 August 2019, Xiaohui paid overseas tuition fees by converting RMB to GBP through HSBC. For that, she was credited another 25,000 points.
  • At the end of the second, third and fourth quarters of 2019, Xiaohui held 3 different classes of assets, receiving 10,000 bonus points each quarter, bringing the total to 30,000 points. During this time, she could conveniently check and manage her own assets with the HSBC Mobile Banking app, and for that, she received another 2,500 electronic bonus points each quarter, totaling 7,500 points.
  • On 30 September 2019, Xiaohui met the first bonus point criteria for the customer relationship enhancement programme. As a reward, she was given another 40,000 points.
  • Xiaohui was very satisfied with our services and recommended a friend who successfully opened a Premier account in November 2019. The two friends then each received 100,000 points - a win-win all around.
