UnionPay Online Payment

Make online payments conveniently with your HSBC Debit Card via UnionPay. You can pay for online purchases around the world, including utility expenses, mobile phone bills, credit card debt, transportation, business trips and charitable donations.

Choose your preferred payment method

You can choose from the following two methods to enable and use UnionPay online payment:

  1. Non-card-binding Scenario: The debit card is not bound at the channel end. The cardholder enters the "four elements"(name, debit card number, mobile phone number reserved with the Bank, and ID number) at the channel end, which are then transmitted to the Bank via China UnionPay. Once verified by the Bank, the transaction can be completed without verifying the debit card PIN set by the cardholder with the Bank. Upon receiving the payment instruction transmitted by China UnionPay, the Bank will obtain a valid one-time authorization from the cardholder and deduct the corresponding amount from the designated debit card in accordance with the instruction.
  2. Card binding scenario: Based on the customer's application at the channel end and "four elements"( name, debit card number, mobile phone number reserved with the Bank, and ID number) provided to the channel end – which are transmitted to the Bank via China Unionpay - the debit card will be bound at the channel end and a signing relationship for UnionPay Card-Not-Present payment services will be established with the Bank. The Bank will then obtain valid authorization from the cardholder. Upon receiving the payment instruction transmitted by China UnionPay, it can deduct the corresponding amount from the signed debit card without verifying the debit card PIN set by the customer with the Bank. Customers may check whether UnionPay Online Payment services have been successfully verified and are ready for use via UnionPay, or through HSBC customer service hotline.
