The global survey into attitudes towards ageing and retirement has found that, in mainland China, people want to abandon traditional models of retirement in favour of self-sufficiency and a mix of work and leisure.
The 2005-6 wave of the HSBC Future of Retirement Global Survey has surveyed around 21,000 persons aged 18 years and over in 20 countries and territories across five continents, and the total population of the countries and territories covered comprises almost 62 per cent of the world’s population.
