Terms and Conditions

  1. During the programme period the referrer can select from the designated gifts following the gift selection rules after making successful referrals of HSBC Premier or HSBC Advance customers. The referees who qualify for an HSBC Premier or HSBC Advance account will also receive one designated gift.

  2. The referrers in this programme must be customers of HSBC Bank (China) Company Limited or its branches/sub-branches (“the Bank”).
  3. To qualify as a successful referral, the referee must fulfil all of the following requirements as listed in sections A through C below to be qualified as an HSBC Premier customer or an HSBC Advance customer:
    a.The referee hasn't opened any individual account (whether single or joint account) with the Bank before the start date of the programme, and
    b.The referee successfully opens an HSBC Premier account or HSBC Advance account with the Bank during the programme period and meets the requirement of the HSBC Premier or HSBC Advance Minimum Total Relationship Balance on the Evaluation Date of the programme (“HSBC Premier Minimum Total Relationship Balance” means the aggregate amount of the deposits and investment products under all the accounts that the customer holds with the Bank should not be less than RMB500,000 or its equivalent in foreign currency; “HSBC Advance Minimum Total Relationship Balance” means the aggregate amount of the deposits and investment products under all the accounts that the customer holds with the Bank should not be less than RMB100,000 or its equivalent in foreign currency; or the home mortgage principal balance should not be less than RMB 500,000 for customers in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and Guangzhou, and RMB300,000 for customers in other cities).
    c.Excludes HSBC International Personal Banking (HIPB) customers with HSBC Premier Total Relationship Balance of less than RMB500,000 or its equivalent in foreign currency.
  4. The current programme period is from (and including) [4 January 2012] (“the Current Referral Start Date”) to (and including) [30 April 2012] ("the Current Referral End Date").
    The current programme evaluation dates are the last business day of each month from January 2012 to April 2012; a total of four evaluation dates.  Namely, they are 31 January, 29 Febuary, 31 March, and 30 April.
    The current customer evaluation rule: customers who do not qualify on the previous evaluation date will be automatically enrolled to qualify for the next evaluation date.
    Gift redemption notification dates are the 20th of the month following the previous evaluation date. The last business day of the month following the notification date will be the last day to redeem the gifts for that month.
    Important notes: The referrer can choose to redeem the gift instantly or wait in order to accumulate more referrals to be considered on the next Evaluation Date in order to redeem the gift.
  5. A successful referral can only be counted once. The referees are only entitled to ONE gift each. The referrers can only redeem the gifts following the gift selection rules.
  6. The referrer shall ensure that the referee’s information is accurate and shall also ensure that they have obtained the necessary authorisation from the referee to provide the information to the Bank for the purpose of the referral arrangement stated herein.
  7. The referees in this programme cannot take part in other programmes of the Bank at the same time.
  8. HSBC employees cannot be referrers in this programme.
  9. The pictures of the gifts are for reference only and the gifts will be provided on an “as is” basis. The gifts cannot be replaced with other products or exchanged for cash.
  10. The gifts are only available while stocks last. The Bank reserves the right to offer an alternative gift when the specified gift is not available. The Bank takes no responsibility for the quality of any gift or a prize.
  11. The Bank reserves the right to amend the programme offers and the terms and conditions herein without prior notice.
  12. The Bank is not responsible for the loss or damage of any redemption letter or product redeemed through this programme.
  13. Each referrer must ensure that the personal information provided to, and maintained with the Bank, is true and accurate. In the event of any changes in personal information, the referrer should inform the Bank of such changes as soon as possible. The Bank shall assume no liabilities in the event that the Bank can not notify the referrer of the gift by the prescribed gift redemption deadline due to the inaccuracy of the personal information provided by the referrer, and as a result of which the referrer fails to acquire or redeem the gift.
  14. In the event of disputes about this programme or the terms and conditions, the Bank reserves the right of final decision subject to any laws and regulations.
  15. In case of any discrepancies between the terms and conditions and other promotional materials related to this programme, these terms and conditions shall apply and prevail.
  16. In case of discrepancies between the English and Chinese versions, the Chinese version shall apply and prevail.
  17. This programme does not apply to the Bank's sub-branches in Dalian.
